Why there's no ceasefire in effect with any armed group today

At some point during this administration, formal ceasefires were in effect with five different criminal structures. Today, as of July 2026, none remain active.

Between 2022 and 2025, this administration decreed formal ceasefires with five structures: the ELN (Decree 0104 of 2024), the EGC or Clan del Golfo (Decree 0380 of 2023), the Conquistadores de la Sierra self-defense group (Decree 2659 of 2022), the dissident faction of the former FARC under alias Mordisco (Decree 0385 of 2024), and the faction under alias Calarcá (Decree 0448 of 2025). Each of those ceasefires ended, at some point, either by government decision or due to the other side's non-compliance.

As of July 30, 2026, there is no active ceasefire with any organized armed group. The one partial exception involves the dissident factions of alias Juan Márquez, alias Allende (operating in Nariño), and alias Araña (operating in Putumayo), with whom two temporary, targeted suspensions of offensive operations were arranged, lasting 6 and 18 days, solely to facilitate their transit to a Temporary Location Zone and the destruction of war matériel. We are explicit about this: those limited suspensions did not, and do not, amount to a ceasefire.

We are publishing this full timeline, with its dates and decrees, because we believe the public has a right to know the real status of each negotiation with precision, beyond whatever gets announced at any given moment. A ceasefire is not a statement of intent: it's an administrative act with a start date and, in most of these cases, an end date.
